Why I'm Choosing to Serve in Bolivia
I'm extending my service!
Familia Feliz is a non-profit, Christ-Centered boarding school that provides a safe haven for orphaned, abused, and neglected children in rural Bolivia. Every single one of these kids come from difficult situations and have found at least a temporary home and family here. For the past 16 years, Familia Feliz has served and been a refuge for these children of Bolivia, and for the past 5 months, I've had the privilege to contribute to the mission.
Currently, I am a house parent of 17 girls ages 9-14 and one two-year-old boy and it has been challenging but even more rewarding. My original plan was to volunteer at Familia Feliz from June-December, but since being here, I have decided to stay 4 more months, until April. I love these kids so much, and there is a huge need here. I am ecstatic to be able to spend even more time being with these kids.
Why donations are important
Each year Southern Adventist University sends out more than 60 full-time student missionaries. I have agreed to raise $5,900 for Southern's Student Missions program. The funds raised will collectively help cover our airfare, visas, insurance training, and care packages. I am excited to serve as a student missionary! Will you help me reach my goal? Whatever you are able to give is greatly appreciated by the 2024-25 student missionaries, the people we will serve, and also myself.
Student Missions at Southern
For over 50 years Student Mission has been equipping students to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus, reaching people with the gospel around the world. Students spend four to twelve months learning to live beyond the borders of their faith. It is our deepest desire to see lives changing for the kingdom of Christ.
All gifts received go toward the expenses of this year’s student missionaries. If we exceed our goal, the remaining funds will be applied toward the expenses of future student missionaries.
