Student Missions at Southern
For over 50 years Student Mission has been equipping students to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus, reaching people with the gospel around the world. Students spend four to twelve months learning to live beyond the borders of their faith. It is our deepest desire to see lives changing for the kingdom of Christ.
Why donations are important
Each year Southern Adventist University sends out more than 60 full-time student missionaries. I have agreed to raise $3000 for Southern's Student Missions program. The funds raised will collectively help cover our airfare, visas, insurance training, and care packages. I am excited to serve as a student missionary! Will you help me reach my goal? Whatever you are able to give is greatly appreciated by the 2023-24 student missionaries, the people we will serve, and also myself.
Why I'm Choosing to Serve in Alaska
I want to serve as an SM because I see a need to share the message of Jesus’ love in Alaska. Even though it is part of the US, Alaska is full of hurting, broken people who desperately need to know the freedom that can happen through relationship with Jesus. Many Alaskans struggle with alcohol/substance abuse, so another reason I want to go is to help people see that there are better ways to have fun. I believe that actions speak much louder than words, so through my lifestyle and interactions, I hope that people can see a reflection of Jesus’ love and desire to see them living abundant lives. I will be assisting with the Seventh-Day Adventist radio ministry that operates out of Nome and reached much of Western Alaska. I will also be helping with personal evangelism among church members and the Nome community’s
How will my donation be used?
All gifts received go toward the expenses of this year’s student missionaries. If we exceed our goal, the remaining funds will be applied toward the expenses of future student missionaries.
