Why I'm Choosing to Serve in Bolivia

I am choosing to be a student missionary because I believe it is God's way of allowing me to grow spiritually and be a light to those who are living in different circumstances. I feel called to serve in Bolivia at the orphanage because I have the availability and resources to reach people at a young age, directing them to Jesus and sharing His love with them. I love working with children, as I have experience as an Adventurers teacher and have also worked at a Pre-school Montessori School during the summer. I am passionate about using my talents and skills to minister to others and help those who need it more than me. I hope to be an example of a service-minded Christian, gain many valuable life experiences, and to be a blessing to others around me.

As a houseparent in Bolivia, I will be watching over around 13 children ranging from one to sixteen years old. Everyday activities include cooking, cleaning, teaching, and interacting with them. A lot of these children are brought into the orphanage from a broken family background, some having been abused or neglected of the love they need as a child. In serving as an interim parent figure to these children, I hope to give the children the attention and love they need and to be someone they can look up to and trust.

Why donations are important

Each year Southern Adventist University sends out more than 60 full-time student missionaries. I have agreed to raise $2700 for Southern's Student Missions program. The funds raised will collectively help cover our airfare, visas, insurance training, and care packages. I am excited to serve as a student missionary! Will you help me reach my goal? Whatever you are able to give is greatly appreciated by the 2024-25 student missionaries, the people we will serve, and also myself.

Student Missions at Southern

For over 50 years Student Mission has been equipping students to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus, reaching people with the gospel around the world. Students spend four to twelve months learning to live beyond the borders of their faith. It is our deepest desire to see lives changing for the kingdom of Christ.

All gifts received go toward the expenses of this year’s student missionaries. If we exceed our goal, the remaining funds will be applied toward the expenses of future student missionaries. Your gift is a charitable contribution.

Thank you!!
